Elephant Drums presents a new series of evening drumming workshops, starting on Thursday 19 November 2015.
The series kicks off with a workshop exploring World Rhythms led by Canadian jazz/world drummer Adam Teixeira.
Adam Teixeira is a drummer/percussionist from Toronto, Canada. His extensive experience in jazz and world music have led to many opportunities to travel around the globe to perform and study music from different traditional cultures. Adam continues to develop these rhythmic vocabularies in his unique approach to the drum kit and performance.
This inspiring workshop examines “world” rhythms traditionally played using hand percussion, and demonstrates methods you can use to creatively apply these rhythms to the drum kit and generate grooves and fills.
The World Rhythms workshop is the first part in a series which will continue at regular intervals throughout 2016. If you are unable to attend the workshop on the 19th November, please contact us to be put on the mailing list to be first to receive details of the next workshop.
