Rhythms of the World
Saturday 5th November, 11:15am
Elephant Drums presents a special workshop suitable for all levels (there’s something for everyone, come along whether you are a beginner or a more experienced player).
Date & Time:
Saturday 5th November 2016
11.15am – 1pm
Doors open at 11:15am for 11:30am start
About the Workshop:
We travel the world from the comfort of the “Drum Cafe” and explore rhythms which are traditionally played using hand-held percussion instruments. This time around, we’re going to be talking about Morocco. So grab a fresh mint tea (or the drink of your choice on offer at the cafe), and join us to learn all about the traditional rhythms of this most rhythmic part of the world. As always, we’ll discuss accessible concepts and methods to creatively apply the rhythms to the drum kit to give you plenty of new ideas to take away.
You don’t need to have been to one of our previous World Rhythms workshops – each one is designed to be a standalone session.
Elephant Drums Waterloo
Old Paradise Yard, London, SE1 7LG
Close to Waterloo station, Lambeth North station, and the London Eye. Also a short walk from Westminster Bridge. Please note that Lambeth North station (Bakerloo Line) is currently closed for tube upgrades so it best to use Waterloo station or Westminster.
We welcome you to arrive at 11:15am for complimentary refreshments and a meet&greet before the workshop starts at 11:30.
Whether you are new to drumming or if you’re an experienced player, there is something for all levels in this inspiring workshop. Nobody will be picked out to perform anything or asked to do anything which is outside of his/her comfort zone. There will be fun interactive opportunities to participate as a group.
