Hito no Chikara
The Power of Human Strength
Explosive drumming, breathtaking choreography, and the unshakable spirit of Yamato’s players.
This extraordinary work confronts a world transformed by technology and asks: what remains uniquely human? With every strike of the taiko, the performers channel resilience, passion, and the shared heartbeat that binds us all.
Yamato are widely regarded as one of the world's best Taiko groups bringing with them a world of awe-inspiring rhythms and soul-stirring energy. Since being founded in 1993 they have given more than 4,500 shows across 54 countries.

What is Taiko Drumming?
Taiko is a form of traditional Japanese drumming known for it's heart-thumping rhythms, thunderous sounds and breathtaking beats. It is more than just drumming; it involves movement, etiquette, physical strength and ferocious skill to command drums that weigh up to half a tonne.

We chose the date for this outing to the theatre based on when the most Drum Pass members that expressed an interest were available and wanted to go to see it.
For events like this, we usually try to meet up a little earlier at a nearby venue, to grab a drink and perhaps a bite to eat (optional) before the show.
If you are not a member of Elephant Drums or if you want to go to see the show on a different date, then you can book tickets directly with the theatre via the link below. It runs from the 12th May to 30th May at the Peacock Theatre (part of Sadlers Wells) in London.
