Elephant & Castle Studios (SE1)

This is where it all began! The original studios were in Elephant & Castle (hence the name "Elephant Drums"). After many happy years, sadly the landlords sold the site to property developers who had other ideas for the buildings which didn't involve music education or drumming. After the final drum lesson came to an end, the team of tutors moved on and set up new studios in other parts of London. The good news is that it was not the final drum lesson after all. It just meant that rather than being based only at one large site in South London, the Elephant Drums tutors are now based at more studio locations around London. We kept the name, but we are now all over the city!

We continue to teach people drums in Elephant & Castle and surrounding parts of South London by providing in-home tuition.

Although the studio in Elephant & Castle no longer exists, this page has been kept for archive purposes for those who remember the old studio and to explain how Elephant Drums got its name for those who are finding this webpage for the first time.

Drum lessons are still available by booking at one of the new studio locations.

How to get to the studio

The Elephant studio has moved... Due to all the construction work in the Elephant & Castle area our building was under threat from developers and we had to pack our trunks and find a new home! We are now up and running at new studios in great locations in London, close to public transport links. Please visit the studios page for the locations of our nearest studios to where you are based. If you are new to Elephant Drums, you can select your nearest studio and check the availability of Taster Lessons by visiting the Taster Lesson page to take advantage of an Introductory Discount.

Nearest public transport:

Tube

Elephant & Castle station is on the Northern and Bakerloo lines. Kennington (Northern Line) is also close to the studio and is where the two branches of the Northern Line meet (the Bank Branch and the Charing Cross Branch) - for easy access to all parts of central London.

Bus

Numerous bus routes serve Elephant & Castle and Kennington.

Train

Elephant & Castle and London Waterloo are the nearest mainline railway stations.
