Joe is a London drummer and teacher who enjoys playing across many genres from rock to electro to jazz (and everything between). He has performed internationally and in various beloved music venues in his home town including: Shepherds Bush Empire, Roundhouse, Royal Festival Hall, Royal Albert Hall and at many festivals such as Glastonbury, Bestival, Iceland Airwaves, Sonar. He has performed on BBC, ITV and Channel 4 and has had original compositions & session contributions receive air play on BBC, XFM and other radio stations.
Joe has been playing for over 25 years and teaching for the last ten years. Having taken private lessons in his formative years he has come to appreciate the value of one to one study, helping his students to develop their musicality, reading and technique and then encouraging them to get out there and express themselves with other musicians. He enjoys the different approaches that each student brings; whether they are just looking to get themselves band-ready or if they are looking to improve their reading and technique or whether they just want to enjoy and explore the instrument. In each case he believes that a friendly and relaxed approach brings the best results.
