Elephant Drums is pleased to be involved in Our Big Gig, the UK’s biggest community music festival.
Free Music Festival
Expected to draw crowds larger than Glastonbury Festival, and more people than an average week at Wimbledon, Our Big Gig takes place across 330 venues from the 11th – 14th July.
Elephant Drums will be presenting music workshops in association with Stop Look Listen at the Camberwell London Big Gig event on Friday 12th July.
We’ll be running rhythm-making workshops using “found percussion”. Found percussion can be anything from a set of keys to that old biscuit tin found lurking in the back of your cupboard. Or how about a bicycle bell, some pieces of wood, or some spoons? If it makes a percussive sound, bring it along!
We’ll be using the found percussion to inspire the rhythms for the piece, which will be performed at the end of the afternoon on the bandstand.
